Annual Club Meeting and election of the board for 2025
Nominated:
Joan Robinson: Joan found her love for dance at age six when she saw a dance movie. She took ballet and won swing competitions as a youth by merely watching the experts. She took her first ballroom class at age 16 in England. She has used her marketing skills to encourage the continuation of dances, groups and clubs since that time. This hobby gives her an immense amount of pleasure. As of now, she is the Board Member for the San Fernando Valley Smooth Dancers and the Vice President of the National Smooth Dancers.
Gary Thomas: Gary is new to dancing and new to Southern California. As it's good for him to make new friends here, Joan encouraged him to be nominated for a Director's position with the Ventura Poinsettia Dance Club. While Gary is proficient at swing dancing, he plans to learn all the ballroom dances so he can feel comfortable in the dance world. He is excited to be involved with the Ventura Poinsettia Dance Club.
Ann Simmons: Ann found the love of dancing over 20 years ago. She was excited to be nominated as a Director with the Ventura Poinsettia Dance Club. She originally got exposed to ballroom dancing at age 16, back when Aurther Murray was the only dance club around, but it wasn't until the "Shall We Dance" movie with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez that her love for dance was able to take off for the skies.
Michael Lemos: Mike Lemos is a proud council member of the Kizh Nation Gabrieleno Band of Mission Indians and is also part of the Chumash. Mike wanted to show his endless gratitude to the world of dance by preserving it through this foundation. "I am infinitely indebted to dance. It is what shaped my life and my path."
